Welcome to Lime like a Trini.

This blog will feature restaurants, places, parties and things to do in Trinidad and Tobago.
Some of the events will be those directly attended by the blogger which will be reviewed and others may be those of interest. 

 The intended audience would be generally young adults to middle aged folks within Trinidad and Tobago, the West Indian diaspora living in the U.S., U.K., Canada and other regions. The blog will focus on incorporating exciting events in the realm of dining, parties, outdoor activities and generally interesting things to do within the islands. (So if you know you love yuh belly, love to lime and love to party yuh in de right place.)

A lot of the times, many of us get caught up in our daily routines and forget to let loose and live a little. (Ent is every weekend yuh seeing somebody posting something on Facebook saying #blessed Doh worry, we go handle that.)

There will be an interesting set of events that will be looked at since Trinidad and Tobago is often described as a pelau, that is, a mix of everything good. Stay tuned as you will be sure to find things that will appeal to yourself, your friends and family.

Ting a ling a ling, school a bell ring! Popularized by dancehall artist Shabba Ranks in 1993 was a common song to hear during recess at primary school. (Mind you, if my mother only know I was listening to these kinds of songs when I was a a child, I woulda get a cut tail!) Trini slang - A basic guide before you visit

Whether you're visiting home after a while, or just need to know what the yout and dem saying here's a quick guide. Now I want to make it clear, Trini slang is different from other Caribbean regions' slang. A lot of tourists compare our dialect to Jamaican but don't say that to either country before you get a cut eye. However, since the country is a mix of all ethnicities, races and people there will be some cross twang but this post will feature general words utilised throughout the nation. 1. Lime / liming - Not only a fruit but this also means 'hanging out' or 'going out' usually with friends. A lime may or may not include alcohol. Sentences include: I feeling to lime. On d Avenue lime

  Photo by Trevette Ramlakhan here On a regular work day Ariapita Avenue is business as usual serving customers and provides a quick lunch stop for many persons working in the Port of Spain area but by night, it comes alive as one of the most exciting things to do. As you may know by now, Trinis love a lime and trust me when I say we don't let things like a silly weekday stop that. I'll tell you something ; the avenue is open every week night. Yes, I said week night because we know how to go to work, take a power nap, reach a party and make it to work the next day normal. This is the land of party and vibes. Situated near the capital city, the avenue is packed with bars and lounges to cater to every budget.
